Digital Armoury

2 week collaboration project with the jewlery department
A wearable that is part of a circular system that equips you with knowledge of the potential dangers of facial recognition technology.

We quickly dove into the experimentation process of this project as we tested what elements our project would contain. There needed to be a physical element that would block the wearers identification from being obtained before the digital part of the experience kicked in.

We decided that we wanted to explore adding an AR element to the project and found that we could go straight from the physical to the virtual through a QR code which we added onto the mask.

Through discussions on what the next step in our experience should be and whether or not we should allow access to some users based on how well they know the person, decided by how well they did on a personal quiz. This however, did not allow for the random curious person who was neither friend nor foe.

We then came up with the idea of create a website designed for that specific demographic of people. This website would inform the viewer of the disadvantages to improving technology. It should serve to educate people and make them a little bit ore wary but not scare.

The website that we created closed the circle as it allowed you to download the template of the mask and therefore educate whomever ends up scanning their QR codes.
