Spin the top

1 week physical computing project
This was a one week design sprint, designed to explore 3D printing, laser cutting and physical computing without using circuit boards.

With my partner we created a drinking game that chooses what game you play with your friends before going on a night out.

Inside the prism there is a tilt switch which makes the lights flicker as it spins and lights up the LEDs on the game that you landed on.
To design this Spin top we first modeled the grip in Fusion 365.
We were then able to use the 3D printer to create it.
Our next step was to solder the circut of four LEDs, a battery and a tilt switch which we lazer cut a housing for.
We used a hot glue gun to secure together and to create a point on the bottom for it to spin on.
For the final addition we used super glue to attach the grip to the top.

This design became very popular with our class mates.
